The City Clerk is responsible for the preparation of the written meeting minutes which include the date, time and place of the meeting, the names of the public body members present and absent, the substance of all matters proposed, discussed and decided, and a record of the vote for each matter decided by vote. City Council meetings are also recorded in audio format. Copies of the written minutes and audio recordings are typically available at the City Clerk’s office within 30 working days after adjournment of a meeting.
A “Regular” meeting – the City Council meets in a regularly scheduled session, typically the first and third Tuesdays of each month during the year.
A “Joint” meeting – the City Council meets in a joint session with another governmental entity, usually the Humboldt County Commission and/or the Winnemucca Convention & Visitors Authority (WCVA).
A “Special” or “Planning” meeting – the City Council meets in special session to discuss the budget or other issues that require specific attention.
