The Winnemucca Municipal Airport is a joint endeavor of the City of Winnemucca and Humboldt County, Nevada.   The Winnemucca City Council and the Board of Humboldt County Commissioners adopted the “Joint Airport Agreement” on July 6, 1964.  The agreement established that “The City and County shall jointly maintain, operate and own the airport and its facilities” and that the airport would be governed by a Joint Airport Board originally comprised of three (3)  members.  However, the agreement was amended on March 2, 1978 and the amendment changed both the number and composition of the Board to five (5):  Three (3) members to be appointed by the Winnemucca City Council and two (2) members to be appointed by the Board of Humboldt County Commissioners.

Today’s Airport Board remains an advisory body to both the Winnemucca City Council and the Board of Humboldt County Commissioners in order to fulfill the agreement’s stated objective:  Providing the City and County with adequate public airport facilities.

The Board meets on the second Monday of each month in the Meeting Room at Winnemucca City Hall, 90 W Fourth Street, Winnemucca, NV, at 4:00 p.m.
