Winnemucca Police Department

INVESTIGATIONS DIVISION

The Investigations Division of the Winnemucca Police Department is currently made up of two (2) full time General Investigations Detectives.  The Division's primary focus is on major crimes committed within the City of Winnemucca.  These investigations include, but are not limited to, crimes against both persons and property.  Examples of these crimes would be Homicide, Sexual Assault, Burglary, Possession of Stolen Property, and Embezzlement.

Of the crimes investigated by the Investigations Division most are initiated by the Patrol Division and are forwarded to the Investigations Division for follow-up.  In addition to these cases, Investigators will initiate many of their own criminal cases such as Drug Endangered Children Investigations.

The Winnemucca Police Department Investigations Division is committed to conducting and providing detailed and thorough investigations that exceed prosecutorial standards.   We strive to accomplish this goal to ensure we are providing the best service possible to our citizens.
