City Elections are held every other year and are included with the Humboldt County and Federal elections.  Candidates for City Council are not listed on the primary election ballot held on August 12, 2008.  Candidates for City Council will be placed on the November 4, 2008 General Election ballot.  City Council seats are filed as non-partisan.

Those City Council Seats that are up for re-election this year are Seat 1, Seat 3, and Seat 5.  Candidates that have filed their candidacy are:

• Richard Stone ....................... Incumbent - Seat One (1) (uNCONTESTED - NOT ON BALLOT)

• Joyce Sheen ........................... Incumbent - Seat Three (3) (UNCONTESTED - NOT ON BALLOT)

• Don Stoker ............................ Incumbent - Seat Five (5)

• Paige Brooks ........................ Challenger - Seat Five (5)

Voter Registration forms are available at City Hall, 90 West Fourth Street - and the Humboldt County Clerk's office loated in the Courthouse, 50 West Fifth Street, 2nd floor, Suite 207. 

To be able to vote in the 2008 election, your registration forms must be received by the following dates:

• By Mail - postmarked by Saturday, 31 days before an Election
• In Person at the DMV - by Saturday, 31 days before an Election
• In Person at County Clerk/Registrar Office - by Tuesday, 21 days before an Election
